Who we are

we’re so glad you’re here

What we do

Our name, Muditā, is the Sanskirt term for vicarious JOY, or the act of being happy for others. A joy that delights in the success of those around us.

Our intention is simple, we want our students and clients to cultivate a meaningful realtionship with being well.

Our goal is to provide thoughtfully curated wellness experiences in the community and beyond with an eye towards access and inclusivity. We believe in empowering our students and clients with a repeatable and sustainable pathway of wellbeing practices, and advocate for our client’s ability to become educated on holistic health within their community, on their own terms.

We intentionally partner with mission-aligned, vetted, and certified healers from various backgrounds to create safe and inviting spaces for our events, retreats, and workshops.

Meet Emily

Emily Awad is the founder of Mudita Wellness, and Moss & Moon Wellness. She has spent most of her life seeking out alternative healing modalities and is passionate about treating her students and clients with non-judgment and authentic loving kindness. Being a healer has always been innately inside of Emily, and she believes wholeheartedly that the path to wellness should address the mind, body and spirit.

She is a certified ERYT-500 Hour Master Teacher, Registered Yoga Instructor through Yoga Alliance, a certified YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider) a Certified Reiki Master Teacher of the Usui lineage, a Certified 300 Hour Holistic Sound Therapist through SHIFT Meditation, an Artist specializing in Oil Painting/Drawing and Design, and a Gifted Intuitive.

With a Masters of Science (M.S.) in Leadership and Organizational Change, she is passionate about re-imagining the delivery structures of holistic health through her continuing research in wellness access and inclusivity.

Emily has studied extensively in yoga, yoga therapy, meditation, sound therapeutics, the science of channelling, occuluted knowledge, psychology and disaster mental health counseling, behavioral analysis, organizational change and leadership, and visual design throughout the United States, Guatemala, Mexico, India, Nepal, Spain, and Indonesia.

After losing her Mom in a difficult two year battle of chemotherapy and radiation to throat cancer in 2014, Emily’s path changed dramatically. She has since set out to discover, teach, and scientifically prove the benefits of holistic mind-body-spirit and energy medicine as alternative and effective treatments for long-term health and disease prevention.

Growing up homesteading in the Finger Lakes Region of Upstate, NY Emily learned how to garden organically and care for the land using non-invasive practices. It is important to her that her events and retreats hold space for education around the value of learning how to cultivate native food, source locally, and eat sustainably in both rural and urban settings.

In her free time Emily likes to garden, paint, draw, cook, hike, explore new places and collect books of all kinds. She resides between the West Coast of Puerto Rico, and her small organic family finca homestead in the Finger Lakes of Upstate, NY.
